Marea

Privacy Policy

Effective September 2, 2026

The short version. Marea does not collect your data. There is no account, no server of ours, and no analytics. What you enter stays on your iPhone and, if you have iCloud turned on, syncs privately through your own Apple account. We cannot see any of it.

What Marea stores

When you use Marea, the app saves the things you enter so it can show them back to you:

Where that information lives

All of it is stored locally on your device. If you are signed in to iCloud and have it enabled for Marea, the app uses Apple's CloudKit to sync that data to your private iCloud database so it is available on your other devices and is included in your Apple backups.

That private database belongs to your Apple account, not to us. We have no access to it, no credentials for it, and no ability to read, copy, or recover what is in it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

If you have iCloud turned off, your data stays only on that one device.

What Marea does not do

Marea's App Store privacy label reads Data Not Collected, and that is a literal description of how the app works rather than a summary.

Notifications

Your daily note is scheduled and delivered by your own device using local notifications. Nothing about your cycle, your mood, or your schedule is sent to a server in order to make it arrive. If you decline notification permission, the rest of the app works normally.

Your controls

Export. Settings includes an option to export everything Marea has stored as a readable file you can save or send wherever you like.

Delete. Settings includes an option to permanently delete all of your Marea data. This removes it from your device and from your private iCloud database, across every device where you use the app. It cannot be undone, and because there is no account, nothing remains anywhere afterward.

Deleting the app itself removes the local copy. If you have used iCloud sync, use the in app delete option first if you want the synced copy gone as well.

Children

Marea is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children, because the app does not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes, but any that occur will be visible here.
